I thought it was a great idea and, so, have started with City of Glass. I recently reread my 2004 reprint of City of Glass and felt that I had to review it. City of Glass, the Graphic novel is dan ook een bewerking van een roman. NB: City of Glass was adapted into an acclaimed graphic novel by Paul Karasik and David Mazzucchelli (illustrator) in 2004. You may have heard of The New York Trilogy, a set of novels by Paul Auster, one of my favorite New York authors. Een getekend verhaal over de realiteit van woorden en tekst, dat klinkt op zijn minst opmerkelijk. Here we meet Jonathan A., a writer on a bender, seeking both love and his next drink. Check out a page of the striking artwork below. City of Glass: The Graphic Novel. A novel full of name play and thrills both literary and metaphysical, City of Glass questions both the limits of language and the immutability of identity. He encounters a writer named Paul Auster and, predictably, descends into madness. The real Jonathan Ames is also a writer (and creator of the HBO show) as well as a character in his 2008 graphic novel foray, The Alcoholic. City of Glass (the orignal story) is just so bizarre and looping and metaphysical and mysterious. In 1994, Paul Auster's novel City of Glass was adapted into a graphic novel by Paul Karasik and David Mazzucchelli. I'm guessing this was really hard to adapt to the graphic novel medium. I will be picking up the second in the trilogy, Ghosts, from the library within the next couple days.
